Medical Receptionist

Description

Prime Health Network in Broomall, PA is looking for a Patient Services Representative.

Summary of Duties:

  • Updates patient demographics and insurance information in Nextgen practice management system per Prime Health Network Policy.
  • Verifies insurance eligibility
  • Scans insurance card(s)
  • Provides Prime Health Network s HIPAA Privacy Notice, obtains patient signature and documents accordingly
  • Maintains an up to date knowledge of insurance requirements as per Prime Health Network Billing Department
  • Maintains knowledge of managed care and indemnity billing requirements.
  • Assures capture of all charges.
  • Collects co-pays.
  • Schedules appointments, diagnostic studies and STAT studies and generates appropriate referral(s) and pre-certifications
  • Team care approach and effective communication skills to assist with patient care coordination
  • Confirms follow up appointments
  • Provides telephone coverage including answering phones promptly and politely, routes calls to the proper individual, takes accurate messages and provides follow-up
  • At the end of each shift, provide the envelope with credit card receipts, checks and cash payments to the office manager
  • Maintain knowledge of managed care referral and pre-certification protocols to coordinate patient care
  • Assist in training and orienting new staff to Prime Health Network on policies, procedures and performance standards
  • Comply with practice policies including but not limited to OSHA, HIPAA, Incident Reporting, Patient Discharge and Corrective Discipline.
  • Fill in for various staff positions as needed.
  • Retrieves / Distributes messages from Answering Service daily each morning.
  • Notifies Answering Service of the On-Call Physician at the end of each day
  • Attend meetings as required
  • Promote Prime Health Network to the general public
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Demand

Experience

  • One or two years of medical office experience preferred

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Medical Secretary experience preferred


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
