Field Service Technician - Broomall, PA

Responsible for the re- installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of electronic communication systems, including, but not limited to, Audio-Video Presentation, Pro Sound, Paging, Intercom, Security/Access Control, CCTV, and Video-Conferencing. Knowledge and experience in IT network communications is a plus. The Field Service Technician is responsible for installing and servicing the systems in the most efficient and effective manner to assure minimum down time and maximum performance. All installations and service must meet the highest quality standards set forth by client, while assuring a professional and safe working environment. The technician is responsible for communicating system performance to the customer.
Responsibilities:
Responds to customer's service related issues promptly
Responsible for the final hookup of electronics equipment for new jobs
Tests and documents readings for customer's systems
Updates customer files
Troubleshoots and repairs electronic components
Responsible for handling on-call duties on a regular scheduled basis
Trains and instructs the customer on the proper use of the equipment
Responsible for reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints
Responsible for operation of the following test equipment: Volt Meter, Ohm Meter, Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Multi-meter, and Impedance Meter
Assists with preventive maintenance of customer equipment
Responsible for accurate tracking on time sheets, service/installation tickets and
inventory items.
Full compliance with company's and customer's safety program
Research and obtain information on service contract opportunities
Other duties as required or assigned by company management

Accountability:
The Field Service Technician will be accountable to the Coordinator. Secondary accountability will be to the other management team members, employees and customers of the company.
The Field Service Technician shall possess a two-year electronics degree or equivalent combination of education and related field experience. A working knowledge of audio, video, control and communications systems is required. Audio, video conferencing, or control equipment manufacturer certifications a plus.
(Polycom / AMX / Crestron / NEC / Bi-AMP / etc)

Travel:
Minimum of 50% travel within 100 miles of office. Some out of town travel required.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well-organized.
Superior customer service skills to deal with both internal and external customers.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse groups.
Proficiency in the use of personal computers including such programs as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to demonstrate planning, organizing and implementing skills which allow the successful completion of a project by a specific due date.
Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations.
PC skills to perform network enable equipment software upgrades.
Must be able to read and effectively interpret general business documentation.
Valid and current driver's license.

Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements:
Employee is required to stand, walk, climb, sit and use hands and fingers.
Some light lifting of objects is required.
Reaching, grasping and carrying activities also required.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
